It is becoming ever more important to consider the obstacles faced by people with disabilities when using the Internet.
Accessibility has become an important factor in web design, as organisations like the RNIB have started to take legal action against companies with accessibility problems under the Disability Discrimination Act for failing to make their sites accessible to people with visual impairments.
As the original idea for the internet was to provide a source of information available to all, making sure your site reaches the widest possible audience can help you excel but avoid legal action later on.
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) are an effort to establish guidelines for useable accessible sites.

Bighorse Policy
I design my sites to provide the highest amount of accessibility I can. Although a site does not have to be 100% accessible, I take every effort to make sure my sites meet as many standards as possible. Particular designs and styles of site do effect accessibility and so I do our best to design around these limitations. New software has allowed me to test my sites prior to publishing to check for problems and help correct them. If you have any particular issues about the accessibility of your site you should discuss these with me prior to the start of your job.
I am constantly working on improving my services in this field, by working with specialists and updating my research.
